Caritas of Waco

Caritas of Waco has served families in need for over 55 years. We know that it takes more than just food to fight hunger and food insecurity. That is why, in addition to our pantry service, we run a variety of emergency services and case management programs, providing clients with access to the resources and skills needed to become stable long-term. We provide support to anyone in need and do not discriminate against race, creed, age, sex, color, national origin, marital status, religion, union or political affiliation, handicap, veteran status, or sexual orientation. Texas Utility Help

This organization can give financial assistance to qualified Texas homeowners and renters with low income. Eligible expenses include electricity, gas, propane, water, and wastewater.

The Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)

This is a utility assistance program designed to assist low income households in meeting their immediate energy needs and to encourage consumers to control energy costs for years to come through energy education. It provides relief to those low income elderly and/or disabled households most vulnerable to the high cost of energy for home heating and cooling from fluctuations in energy costs by providing financial assistance, paying up to six or eight of the highest bills during the year depending on whether they are considered a vulnerable household. Furthermore, it provides assistance in an energy-related crisis or during severe weather or supply shortages.
