PERMANENT RESIDENCE

Line Extension/New Construction

Permanent Residence – Site Built Home

Requirements to receive permanent residence benefits are as follows

  • Grade work must be completed and forms started

  • Must be greater than 800 sq. ft. of living space

  • Water meter required

Costs to Customer

  • Meter loop/Meter can. Products Price List

Restrictions

  • All service must meet National Electric Code; HOTEC reserves the right to disallow any service not up to NEC or HOTEC specifications.

  • If customer decides to go with underground service it must be buried a minimum of 24”.

  • Trench and backfill will be inspected prior to permanent service.

General Information

  • All URD service is member installed

  • Service wire and metering installations may be purchased from other electrical merchants as long as they meet NEC specifications.

  • Prices for construction and wire will be recalculated periodically.

MOBILE HOMES

Requirements to receive permanent residence benefits are as follows:

  • Mobile homes must be on a service site and have tongue and axle removed

  • Must be greater than 800 sq. ft. of living space

  • Water meter required

  • Requires a five year minimum contract

TEMPORARY / NON-RESIDENTIAL SERVICE

Overhead Single Phase Line Extension/ New Construction

Example: (Well, Fence Charger, Deer Camp)

HOTEC’s policy for Line Extension on Temporary or Seasonal Structures

  • HOTEC will collect 100% Aid to Construction for all line to be installed

  • HOTEC will collect 100% of the cost for the removal of any line which is extended for the use of service

  • 100% of Line Extension at $7.00/ft. (non-refundable Aid to Construction)

  • There will be a $275.00 charge for the installation of any transformer.

    Example: (Barn, Shop, Wells, etc…)

  • Requirements to receive permanent residence benefits are as follows

  • Structure may not be temporary or seasonal: structure must be permanent

  • Requires 5 year minimum contract of service

  • Must have 911 address from county: 1) The county requires notification when an improvement is added to the property; 2) If someone has a medical issue at the location, EMS needs a physical address to locate the person in need of assistance.

UNDERGROUND SECONDARY SERVICE SPECIFICATIONS
  • Meter loop/Meter can

  • 4/0 URD service wire $2.15/ft. (Cost is for wire only.  Installation is customer's responsibility)

  • 350 URD service wire $3.75/ft. (Cost is for wire only.  Installation is customer's responsibility)

  • Restrictions

  • All service must meet National Electric Code; HOTEC reserves the right to disallow any service not up to NEC or HOTEC specifications.

  • Underground service must be buried a minimum of 24”...

  • HOTEC will extend 125’ ft. of secondary service from transformer.  If service has not yet made contact with the home’s electrical entrance there will be a meter pedestal set at this point or any point between the transformer and the 125’ft. secondary extension.

  • If a service extends past 125’ft. the customer will be responsible for installing all secondary wire and conduit past the point of the pedestal.

  • If service must extend past 125’ft. the customer will have to sign a voltage waiver.

  • Owner or builder will be responsible for any trenching, bedding, or backfill.  All trenching, bedding, and backfill must be approved by HOTEC.
